Dithrr Generator

Dithrr is a browser-based brand-asset generator that treats a poster as a software instrument rather than a layout.

Dithrr began with a category irritation: most poster and brand-asset tools render a flat, generic chrome around a flat, generic canvas.

The designer's job becomes one of fighting the tool's defaults until something with character arrives. The project asks the opposite question — what if a design instrument wore the aesthetic it produces, so the designer is already inside the visual world by the time they reach the canvas?

The result is a tool whose chrome is the artefact: monospaced HUD labels, edge-anchored corner readouts, a single accent color, tick-mark scrubbers, a status bar that reads like a hardware readout.

The defining decision was where the dither lives.The piece is built around three coupled systems. A custom dithering pipeline runs twelve classic algorithms inside a Web Worker, downsampling and re-quantizing any uploaded image into the 1-bit / N-level look. A Konva composition layer stacks the dithered image with draggable typography, editorial HUD ornaments, and finish passes for grain and scanlines. And a theming system extends the same visual vocabulary outward into the surrounding interface, so the controls themselves read as instruments of the look they're producing — never decoration around it.
